Computational Photochemistry:
From Isolated Molecules to Complex Environments
Joint Workshop
University of Vienna – Hebrew University of Jerusalem
About the Seminar
The CompChem 2025 seminar brings together researchers from across disciplines to explore and advance the understanding of light-induced chemical processes in complex molecular systems.
Participants will present their current research activities with a focus on photobiology, photochemistry, and theoretical modeling of excited-state dynamics.
- Quantum dynamics simulations
- Excited-state electronic structure methods
- QM/MM hybrid techniques
- Photochemical and photobiological reaction pathways
- Nonadiabatic dynamics and surface hopping
- Spectroscopy in complex environments
Workshop Objectives
- Exchange scientific insights and identify synergies across groups
- Foster new collaborations in photochemistry and photophysics
- Explore method development opportunities in excited-state dynamics
- Discuss future research funding strategies and outline collaborative proposals
Format
Day 1: Presentations and in-depth group discussions
Day 2: Working groups focus on outlining collaborative topics, identifying development needs, and drafting research proposals for funding applications.
